Our new guest room

With a whole house to renovate why would I worry about our guest room?

Here is a photo of the room the day we moved in....

Well it was an easy win and we have a lot of friends who come to stay so it was a quick makeover and a super fast win if I am honest. The walls were nice and smooth and the flooring was good to go so it only needed updating with some colour and some new accessories.

I wanted this room to feel light bright and comfortable for our guests. I have been loving all shades of pink lately but didn't want to go too girly in here. I found this paint colour by Valspar called 'Hundred acre' from their bookcase collection. Lots of you may have seen from my insta stories that my lovely father in law is always on hand to help out with the painting. He is a total pro, this room took him 6hrs to paint all walls with two coats. It felt a bit like that TV programme 60 second makeover!!!

The amazing Coco and Wolf  offered to send me a quilt set as a gift so my mood board for this room came together quite easily.

This room is 10ft by 10ft but it has a pitched roof from both sides and a cute little dorma window. We were looking at having shutters in here but they are so expensive we decided on a white roller blind. We always use the black out blinds from Argos

We bought a new bed frame from Wayfair it was a really affordable bed frame priced at about £70 from their basics range.

My fab father in law also painted the old bedroom door with Zoffany paint called ink. I am totally obsessed with this colour as a few of you may have noticed. I have painted quite a few old pieces of furniture that we brought from the old house.

Once the bed was put together by Mr Southwood I was able to do all the best bits. On went the beautiful bedding by Coco & Wolf . If you haven't ever heard of Coco & Wolf they are the most delicious brand that make luxury bedding and home accessories founded by one of our mavens Amy! The bedding is hand made in the UK and feels absolutely divine to touch. Made from 100% cotton but feels like silk from Liberty print it appeals to me on every level. As a young teenager I was obsessed with Liberty print. I used to buy myself a Liberty diary every year in March as it was the only way I could afford one in Dickens and Jones.

You can find the wall hangings, cushions, vases and toiletries all on my website.

I have two other items to share with you that are not from my shop featured below. The beautiful linen print by another talented Southwood Social Hub Maven Natalie from Wonder & Rah. I found the rug pictured below from H&M at the bargain price of £39.99. You can find the vase, fans and typography print all on my website here
